What is MBDP?

MOVE Bridges Dance Project designs innovative professional/personal development workshops, keynotes, and unique dance experiences that motivate individuals of all abilities to #movebridges – to explore, discover and take action in achieving their full potential.

M.O.V.E Bridges Dance Project (MBDP) began in 2012 with a simple question:

What if people felt free to express themselves in everyday life as if they were on a stage?

MBDP uses the medium of dance to inspire youth and adults of all abilities to lead with confidence and intention. We wholeheartedly believe that movement and the art of dance are powerful enough to bridge the gap between one’s unrealized potential and one’s best self. MBDP is not merely exposing movers to dance; we are building bridges to the leaders, thinkers, risk-takers, creators, motivators, and visionaries we all have inside of us.

MBDP is particularly inspired by social dance because these dance styles are derived from communities that have shared histories and meaning with those who practice them. The movement style of many social dances is steeped in the culture and time from which they emerged, and not necessarily based on rigid stylistic techniques that require a certain body type, ability, or years of training. MBDP Founder, Siomara Bridges-Mata leverages this concept of openness and fluidity into unique dance classes, professional/personal development workshops, consulting,  and public speaking as a way to enable any “mover”– with a willingness to learn and grow–to unlock new ideas, ways of doing, being, and leading with a deeper purpose, intention, confidence, and ease. No matter a “mover’s” executive level, role, or ability, MBDP has something for everyone.
